A family-owned and well-organized business built on a foundation of hard work, determination, and a strong work ethic.
Our journey began with Derek who started as a self-employed individual, pouring his heart and soul into his work. When his mother sadly passed away in 2006 and left her flat in Hartlepool to Derek, this marked the beginning of his property journey, where he built his own property portfolio.
As his expertise and reputation grew, his daughter Jen began working alongside Derek as they ventured into property management. Jen played a vital role in the business and set up D P Property lettings and focused on systemising the business to ensure both compliance and the delivery of exceptional service. Jen Recognized the potential of the business and joined forces with her sister Sam, and together, we have steadily transformed our family business.
For many years, we worked from the comfort of Derek’s home. However, in September 2021, we took a significant step forward by moving our Lettings business into a dedicated office space. This milestone allowed us to enhance our services, streamline our operations, and better serve our valued clients.
While Derek, continues to work from home, he plays a vital role in our business. His expertise in sourcing properties for investors is unparalleled, and he remains a trusted contact for sellers in Hartlepool seeking an efficient and reliable service to sell their property.
As a close-knit team, we are deeply passionate about our community and take pride in being a part of it.
We have built trusted relationships with local contractors and tradesman, because of this we can offer a hands-free service where we can organise and manage anything from full refurbishments to minor repairs. We work closely with landlords and investors who appreciate this service, with this service we take away the stress, but we do understand the importance of clear communication and ensure all/any work/s is communicated including, full quotes received in advanced and approved, before and after photos and final invoices forwarded. All our contractors are spot checked and have full insurances and relevant qualifications.

As we stand today the lettings team is a team of six, Jen continues to grow the business and Sam leads the team as General Manager.
To introduce the team, Michelle and Sam (yes another Sam – Sam.K) are the dynamic property management duo at D P Lettings, dedicated to overseeing a diverse property portfolio. As seasoned professionals, Sam and Michelle are the driving force behind the success of this thriving team, tirelessly managing properties on behalf of landlords and investors. With their combined expertise, they ensure that every property under their care is not only well-maintained but also optimized for maximum returns. Their attention to detail, unwavering commitment, and excellent communication skills makes them the go-to professionals in the industry. Let us introduce you to two more essential members of our dedicated team. First, there’s Joanne, our friendly and hands-on receptionist. While she may work part-time, her impact is full-time when it comes to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for clients and visitors. Joanne’s impeccable organizational skills ensure that enquiries are handled promptly, appointments are scheduled seamlessly, and clients always feel well taken care of.
Lastly but by no means least we have Diane, Diane is always on the road, Diane goes above and beyond to personally greet and meet potential tenants, with her warm and welcoming smile she sets the tone ensuring potential tenants feel not just welcomed but genuinely valued. Her dedication shines through as she conducts unlimited accompanied viewings, striving to match the perfect tenants with their new home. Diane’s commitment doesn’t stop there; during tenancies, she meticulously attends property inspections and compiles comprehensive reports, providing landlords with valuable insights and peace of mind.
As we are committed to lettings in Hartlepool both Jen and Sam, have completed the Propertymark Qualifications Level 3 Award in Residential Letting & Property Management. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to professional growth and staying up to date with industry standards. Sam.K and Michelle are also working towards this qualification.
